Children’s faces are still growing and that makes for plenty of differences. One reason for that is that little ones grow at different rates! That means even kids of the same age might be at different stages of growth. Common features of children’s faces include a shallow nose bridge, features positioned closer together, and proportions that don’t match adult faces. For that reason, it’s important that a virtual try-on made for kids takes these differences into account.

PD is the millimeter distance between the centers of the pupils. In virtual try-ons, PD helps with accurately calibrating the frame’s scale on a child’s face. PD also helps center lenses for clear, comfortable vision.

Yes, ours is the only virtual try-on that provides a reliable estimate for kids’ faces. Our virtual try-on technology is specially developed for fitting kids' faces because kids’ faces are different from adults’ faces. There are three different ways it determines PD to ensure an accurate virtual try-on: 1) for the most accurate result enter your child’s PD manually if you know it, 2) for the next most accurate result add your child’s photo, 3) you can also enter your little one’s birthday—this is based on average sizes and might be less accurate since children grow at different rates. Your eyecare provider will confirm final measurements and make any needed adjustments in store.

We take privacy seriously. We do not collect, store, or sell personal data from children using the virtual try-on. Images are used only to power the try-on experience and are not retained.

We believe working with your eyecare provider is very important to ensuring your child gets the best possible care and right fit for his or her glasses. Visit our Eyecare Provider Locator to connect with a nearby authorized Dilli Dalli location. Call ahead of your visit to make an appointment. After you call to make an appointment, mention that you selected a frame(s) using Dilli Dalli Virtual Try-On and that you would like to try it on in person during your appointment. Tell them the frame you like and see if they have it in stock for you to try on or ask if they will order it for you. Some eyecare providers have a policy stating that there may be a small shipping fee if a frame is not in stock and must be ordered from Dilli Dalli.
